New Sun Road is on a mission to accelerate clean energy and internet access to rural communities around the world. They monitor over 900 microgrids in over 21 countries.

About the project

Through the installation of 20 internet-enabled and solar-powered Digital Community Centers (DCCs) New Sun Road (with funding from USAID-MujerProspera, USAID/Microsoft Airband Initiative) inspire indigenous women and girls to use technology in a safe and inclusive way.  These centers are the first technology hubs fostering women-led entrepreneurship in these communities.

Impact

New Sun Road has trained more than 200 indigenous women in digital skills, and provided access to digital services for more than 3,000 people living in underserved communities in the Guatemalan highlands
