About Powertrust

Powertrust is unlocking a new sector of clean energy procurement for corporate climate leaders by aggregating Renewable Energy Certificates (RECs) from small, distributed renewable energy projects around the world. We believe that small projects – aggregated to meaningful scale – can transform the world’s energy future by delivering social and climate impacts where it matters most. Small DRE projects are faster to deploy, more agile, more resilient, and maximize the impact of every dollar spent by powering schools, hospitals, factories, farms, and households across the Global South. Global corporations have the power to accelerate decarbonization via the DRE sector, just as they have in more established markets, but barriers and boundaries are stopping them from investing in DRE projects that support climate justice and can deliver up to 7x the carbon impact. Powertrust removes these barriers by aggregating small DRE projects in an accountable, transparent way that matches how companies have sourced utility-scale renewables for decades. We offer a unique, innovative model for corporate climate leaders to decarbonize their global energy footprint while maximizing the impact of their investments.

We are actively recruiting a Business Development Associate located in Southeast Asia to help us grow our pipeline of small-scale distributed solar projects. We are currently sourcing projects in Vietnam, Cambodia, Laos, Thailand, Malaysia, Indonesia, and the Philippines. The Associate will help Powertrust purchase the generation data from projects located in these countries and deliver certified I-RECs to our corporate customers.

  • Representing Powertrust at industry events and conferences
  • Creating outreach materials and collateral (e.g. contributing to the website, creating social media content, drafting and disseminating RFPs)
  • Performing due diligence tasks (e.g. managing requests for information, conducting independent research)
  • Supporting the Regional Head of Project Origination in negotiations and contract signing workflows from end-to-end
  • Supporting other parts of Powertrust’s business (e.g. sales, marketing, fundraising) by showcasing projects and developers as required (e.g. collecting photography, testimony, and other media from developers)
  • Assisting with post-contract management, including facilitating monitoring and evaluation activities (e.g. administering impact surveys, conducting site visits)
  • Supporting project developers to engage with the Powertrust digital platform to supply information about operating and planned projects
